Meeting with the Honorable Minister of Health, Ummy Mwalimu

In November 2023, AGOTA leadership met with the Honorable Minister of Health, Ummy Mwalimu, to engage in dialogue on the current and future role of AGOTA in strengthening women’s and newborns’ health in Tanzania.

The meeting provided an opportunity to formally introduce AGOTA’s leadership, mandate, and ongoing initiatives, while highlighting the Association’s contribution to improving standards of obstetric and gynaecological care nationwide. Key areas of discussion included maternal and newborn health priorities, professional capacity building, and opportunities for collaboration between AGOTA and the Ministry of Health.

This engagement reaffirmed AGOTA’s commitment to working closely with government stakeholders to advance evidence-based policies and improve access to high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare across the country.
