Expansion of project  MPDSR in Tanzania, funded by UNFPA

AGOTA convened a meeting to discuss Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR).

In December 2023, AGOTA, in collaboration with the Tanzania Training Centre for International Health (TTCIH), convened a meeting to discuss the ongoing implementation and expansion of the Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) project in Tanzania, with funding support from UNFPA.

The meeting focused on reviewing progress, sharing lessons learned, and identifying opportunities to strengthen MPDSR systems across health facilities. Discussions emphasized improving data use, accountability, and coordinated response mechanisms to prevent avoidable maternal and perinatal deaths.

Through this collaboration, AGOTA continues to support national efforts to enhance maternal and newborn health outcomes by promoting evidence-based monitoring, learning, and action within the health system.
