Overview
The Postpartum IUCD training aimed to support the integration of long-acting, reversible contraception into routine maternity care. By expanding provider capacity at scale, the program contributed to improved access to informed family planning options for women during the postpartum period.

Objectives
- Integrating Postpartum Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (PPIUCD) services into routine maternity care
- Strengthening healthcare providers’ skills in counselling and safe postpartum IUCD insertion
- Improving access to long-acting, reversible contraception for postpartum women
Outputs
- 2,699 healthcare providers trained between 2015 and 2018
- Training exceeded the original target by more than double the number
- Expanded availability of postpartum family planning services in participating facilities
