Dr. David H. Mvunta is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. His research interests include but are not limited to the molecular basis for chemoresistance in gynecological cancers, quality of life studies, and maternal, adolescent & child health.

He is also an advocate of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRHR) and a member of various professional organizations like the FIGO Community of Practice, ECSACOG (East Central, Southern Africa College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists), and AGOTA (Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of Tanzania). He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications.

He holds a Ph.D., focusing on gynecological cancers from Shinshu University Graduate School of Medicine, Matsumoto, Japan. He also, holds a Masters of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, Dar es Salaam and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Hubert Kairuki Memorial University.
